Azienda Agricola Poggio Cappiano, together with another 19 farms of the "Empolese Valdelsa” area are members of the “La Fattoria Amica” project.
The “Educational Farm” forms part of FLO.VI.TUR (Horticulture, Gardening Nurseries and Tourism), a regional project forming part of the EQUAL European initiative with regard to sustainable and integrated development. Its aim is rural economic development, creating more solid and dynamic companies through which company processes, products and organizations can be examined and modernized. The local centre of Empolese Valdelsa follows the task guidelines relating to the solution of environmental and economic problems in the farming sector. In particular, it supports territorial planning with a view to sustainability and to reinforcing local farms by promoting multifunction, product quality and territorial marketing.
